Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Custom Shop 1958 Stratocaster Relic in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, loaded with signed Abby Ybarra pickups and complete with a hardshell case, CoA, and all hangtags/case candy. Part of Fender's "Time Machine" series, this Strat faithfully replicates the feel, appearance, and tone of Fender's Pre-CBS golden age, featuring a gloss nitro lacquer Chocolate Three-Tone Sunburst finish and a V-shaped neck profile carve.
Weighing 7lbs 6oz, tonewoods comprise a hand-selected premium alder body and a one-piece maple neck. The trio of Custom Shop pickups were handwound and signed by Fender's “Queen of Tone,” pickup guru Abby Ybarra, delivering quintessential Stratocaster tonalities at each position on the five-way pickup selector switch, featuring period-correct construction with formvar wire, Alnico magnets (vintage stagger, unbeveled), and cloth-covered leads. The bridge pickup has a sweet, woody cut, the neck is full-sounding and gutsy, and the "in-between” positions have hollow quack, with a low noise-floor thanks to the reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup. This 1958 Stratocaster Relic has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
