Up for sale, a 1999 Martin Standard Series D-28, complete with the original molded hardshell case. This Martin dreadnought features the tried-and-true pairing of an X-braced Sitka spruce top with East Indian rosewood back and sides.
This D-28 has a warm, relaxed tone befitting a guitar that's had a couple decades to open up and resonate beyond what one often expects in a "new" instrument. There’s plenty of classic Martin dreadnought projection, percussive cut, and fullness on tap, with a balanced response across all strings, attributable to the body shape and X-braced construction. The treble response is sparkling and smooth, and the wound strings are rich and clear with a high volume ceiling. Weighing 4lbs 9oz, this D-28 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.
