Up for sale, a 2010 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Special in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, and COA.
The stock pickups take full advantage of the resonant and warm sounding slab mahogany body, with the sweetness, glassy articulation, and midrange grind for which the P-90 is known. It's hard to beat a slab of mahogany, a no-nonsense '50s C neck profile carve, and a pair of P-90s for a pure and dynamically responsive sound. This Les Paul weighs 7lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.
The one-piece mahogany neck profile has Gibson's quintessential "baseball bat" chunky C shape with plenty of girth and roundness, measuring .895" deep at the 1st fret and .990" at the 12th. The dark rosewood fretboard features virtually untouched medium jumbo fretwire with perfectly rounded crowns as well as cream binding and red side dots. The neck is straight, and this guitar has the precision build quality and effortless playability that one expects from Gibson's Custom Shop. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock features Kluson Deluxe single line strip tuners, a Gibson pearl logo, and an inked serial number.
All of the electronics work as they should, with untouched solder on the wiring harness and bumblebee tone capacitors. The wraparound tailpiece has clean plating, and the plastics are all intact including the amber switch tip, black bonnet knobs, and multi-ply pickguard which shows some requisite scuffing (there is some light scuffing on the plastic back plates as well). The TV Yellow gloss nitro lacquer finish is extremely well-kept, with only a few tiny nicks on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original "Gibson Custom" hardshell case with crushed red velvet interior is included and also in great shape. The original COA and a hangtags are present too.
