Manufactured in Japan and intended only for the domestic market, this Telecaster Custom is a faithful and very well-crafted reissue, embodying everything that makes the Telecaster Custom model so versatile and fun to play.With a Wide Range humbucker in the neck position and a traditional Tele single coil at the bridge, this Tele has a very broad tonal spectrum, from thick, meaty humbucker tones in the neck position to chiming, twangy single coil tones at the bridge. Of course the middle position is truly a \"best of both worlds\" setting, and the two pickups balance well both in terms of output and their respective tonal attributes. Weighing 7lbs 8oz, this guitar has a pleasing, crisp acoustic tone with solid sustain that translates well through the pickups. We've had this Tele professionally setup here at our shop, Mike \u0026amp; Mike's Guitar Bar, and it's currently strung with 10-46 strings and slinky action.The one-piece maple neck has a slender C shaped profile with good shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .830\" deep at the 1st fret and .915\" at the 12th. The gloss-finished maple fretboard boasts original slender vintage-style fretwire. There is uniform wear on the crowns of frets 1-6, extending beneath the plain strings further up the fretboard. The scale length measures 25 1\/2\", while the fretboard radius also matches vintage spec at 7 1\/4\". The nut measures a full 1 11\/16\" in width. On the headstock, the Gotoh-branded tuners turn very smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The \"Made in Japan\" text and U-prefix serial number are present above the three-bolt F neck plate.All of the electronics work as intended, with each pickup wired to independent Volume and Tone knobs, in addition to a three-way toggle pickup selector switch. Plastics include the original quartet of witch hat knobs and stock three-ply pickguard, which shows some requisite pick scuffing on the treble side, extending to the neck pickup cover. The Black gloss finish on the body shows a few touched-up nicks mostly relegated to the lower bout body edge, with some minor marks on the body as a whole, and light scuffing in the clear coat of the gloss across the back. The neck profile sports the original smooth gloss finish, with a couple tiny stray marks at the bass side of the profile between frets 2-4 that are not distracting the palm.A padded gigbag is included.","brand":"Fender","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":40238490091706,"sku":"U042544","price":1249.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_d38423fc-29f5-4084-a220-3af08120a73e.jpg?v=1751516303","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/2010-fender-telecaster-custom-72-vintage-reissue-guitar-black-tc72-japan-mij","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
