Made exclusively for the Japanese market and rarely seen outside its country of origin, this Mustang model (officially model MG69\/MH) boasts a Candy Apple Red gloss finish and matching headstock. Often considered to rival Fender's US production in terms of overall quality, this Mustang is a testament to the workmanship and eye for detail evident in the Made in Japan Fender models.There's plenty to love about this Mustang, from the lightweight and resonant body to the pair of stock single coil pickups that deliver plenty of snap and twang. The guitar weighs 7lbs 2oz, and the crisp, clear voice of the instrument when strummed acoustically translates well through the pickups. Of course one of the most fun sounds on the Mustang is the out-of-phase setting, engaged when both on\/off\/on pickup selector switches are at their innermost or outermost points. The quack and spank of that particular setting is unique to the Mustang, and there's plenty of tonal range between the two pickups, with meatier sounds when the neck pickup is soloed. Professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike's Guitar Bar, this Mustang is strung with 10-46 strings and dialed in with spot-on intonation and slinky action.The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with particularly round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, gaining just a hair more depth and roundness in the higher registers, measuring .835” deep at the 1st fret and .950” at the 12th. The thick veneer rosewood fretboard boasts 22 stock slender frets which retain their full factory height and show virtually no wear. At 24\", the scale length is ideal for smaller hands and players looking to execute chord extensions that might be a bit more of a stretch at Fender's full scale. The bone nut measures 1 9\/16\" in width. The headstock features Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The “Made in Japan” text and U-prefix serial number are present above the F-embossed four-bolt neck plate.All of the electronics function as intended, with Master Volume and Tone controls governing the two pickups. Plastics include the original knobs and the white pearloid pickguard, which has great dimension with light requisite scuffing on the treble side of the strum path. The chrome-plated hardware is remarkably clean, shining like new. The gloss Candy Apple Red finish is also stunningly well-kept, with cosmetic wear limited to just a few tiny marks and faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The neck profile also features a smooth ambered gloss finish.The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.","brand":"Fender","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":43536907862272,"sku":"U000029","price":1249.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_742c65e9-7d25-41be-a95e-2c4f8290c3bd.jpg?v=1751541296","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/2010-fender-mustang-69-vintage-reissue-mg69-mh-candy-apple-red-japan-mij","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
