A custom color example with a Candy Apple Red gloss finish and matching headstock, this guitar was manufactured in Japan exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and is rarely seen outside its country of origin. Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard.Tonally, this Jag does everything a good Fender should, with plenty of twang and snap in the top end, and the slightly aggressive chime and sinewy snarl that sets this model apart. The stock pickups have balanced, sweet output and great clarity for strummed passages and sparkling lead lines. Engage the Rhythm Circuit for even darker, meatier tones (great for use with fuzz pedals) or click on the \"strangle\" switch in the Lead Circuit for even thinner tic-tac sounds. Top it off with more chrome than a Cadillac and you have the model that was Fender's flagship guitar when it was introduced in '62, with every bell and whistle Leo Fender and his team could think to include. This guitar weighs 8lbs 9oz, with a warm, clear acoustic tone that translates well through the pickups. Professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike's Guitar Bar where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, this Jag plays very well with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with notably full shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .835\" deep at the 1st fret and .950\" at the 12th. The thick rosewood fretboard features pearl dot inlays and stock vintage-spec slender fretwire on the 24\" scale. The slender frets are flawless and retain their full factory height with well-rounded crowns. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the straight neck with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The bone nut measures 1 5\/8\" in width, and the Candy Apple Red-finished headstock retains the original Gotoh, Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The \"Made in Japan\" text and U-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.All of the electronics function as intended, with individual on\/off switches for each pickup on the Lead Circuit, in addition to the bass cut (or \"strangle switch\") on\/off toggle and Master Volume and Tone knobs. The Rhythm Circuit has its own pair of Volume and Tone wheels in addition to the on\/off toggle switch that engages this circuit, which adds a darker tone cap exclusively for use on the neck pickup. The vibrato unit is very responsive, actuating smoothly for surfy warbles and dives, working in concert with the original bridge with threaded saddles. The chrome-plated hardware is positively gleaming, and plastics include a mint green pickguard, still retraining the clear protective factory film, a testament to the limited use this guitar has seen since new.The finish is officially notated as \"OCR\" or Old Candy Apple Red in the Fender Japan catalog, and this is a darker, more vintage-correct shade of this classic custom color compared to earlier Fender Japan iterations. The finish is exceedingly clean with barely a scratch on it, while the ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.***We are dealers for the Mastery M2 bridge, OMV-P Offset Vibrato, and Lollar Jaguar pickups, any of which can be installed prior to shipment for an additional charge***","brand":"Fender","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":42358758834432,"sku":"U057486","price":1749.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_8eaea9bd-c977-4187-b531-651441b18da4.jpg?v=1751542187","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/2010-fender-jaguar-62-vintage-reissue-jg66-candy-apple-red-near-mint-japan-mij","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
