Based on the original WI80 model, this is a one-of-a-kind Idol built by Terry Atkins and his team at the Washburn shop in Chicago, featuring a mahogany body capped by a stunning flamed koa top with a prominent German Carve. This Custom Shop Idol is loaded with premium appointments, including a locking TonePros bridge and tailpiece, Buzz Feiten tuning system, Grover Rotomatic tuners, and Seymour Duncan humbuckers with dedicated coil taps.

Pickups include a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates in the neck position and a Custom Custom at the bridge. The Pearly Gates is wound to match Billy Gibbons' favorite Gibson PAF, with a "sweet but slightly rude" character, famous for its distinct midrange "Texas sizzle" and organic growl. The bridge position Custom Custom provides plenty of contrast and a distinct sound in every pickup position. A medium-hot humbucker driven by an Alnico II magnet, the Custom Custom delivers a full, sweet tone characterized by a prominent midrange growl and round, fat treble response. Both humbuckers feature dedicated push/pull coil taps on the Tone pots for an array of snappy, sparkling single-coil textures. This Washburn Custom Shop Koa Idol weighs 8 lbs 12 oz, professionally set up here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

- Neck: Mahogany (2pc)
- Shape: Medium C, measuring .845” at 1st fret, .930” at 12th fret
- Fretboard: Rosewood, 12” radius, pearl parallelogram inlays
- Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
- Scale Length: 25 1/2”
- Nut Width: 1 11/16”, phenolic (Buzz Feiten tuning system)
- Tuners: Grover Super Rotomatics (18:1)

Body Specs:

- Body: Flamed koa, mahogany
- Pickups: Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates (N), Seymour Duncan Custom Custom (B)
- Harness: CTS 500K pots
- Controls: Volume x2, Tone x2 (push-pull coil taps), three-way pickup selector
- Hardware: TonePros locking bridge, tailpiece
- Plastics: Gold bonnet knobs, cream pickup rings/switch tip, control plate

The high gloss finish highlights the dimensional flame that extends liberally across the carved koa top, and there’s barely a scratch on the guitar.

The original premium hardshell case is included, along with a spec sheet and hangtags.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0550/4437/4714/files/medium_7f2bccd6-a7c7-4b8f-8742-e3df6b11fa58.jpg?v=1791202926
https://mmguitarbar.com/products/2009-washburn-usa-custom-shop-koa-idol-one-off-electric-guitar-mint-w-case-wi80
