Up for sale, a 2009 Fender Artist Series Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, finished in Torino Red and complete with the original tweed hardshell case and factory paperwork. One of Fender's most popular and enduring artist models, every Eric Clapton Artist Series Stratocaster is hand-crafted in Fender's American workshop for outstanding playability, quality, and tone. This particular iteration delivers clear, hum-free single coil tone thanks to the trio of Noiseless pickups, complete with a few Clapton-centric, player-friendly factory tweaks to improve the instrument's overall performance.

The guitar is equipped with Fender Noiseless pickups, with Active Mid-boost circuitry to cover as much sonic territory as possible. Coupled with a five-way pickup selector switch that offers the usual array of snappy and silky Strat tones, the Mid-boost control on the second Tone knob provides an almost humbucker-esque warmth and fullness. The middle Tone knob also features Fender's patented TBX circuitry, a center-detent boost/cut control. This Clapton Strat weighs 7lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a fast-feeling satin finish and a soft V-shaped profile carve with lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .865" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 12th. The 22 fret maple fretboard has a modern 9.5" radius, and the original slender frets are flawless. The guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1.650" in width, and the headstock features Clapton's signature and a SZ9-prefix serial number dating production to 2009. The neck heel and pocket have a bevy of factory stamps, with dates spanning June-July '09.

The active electronics work as intended, and the 9V battery is located in the vibrato route adjacent to the springs. While the vibrato is factory blocked with a piece of wood as per Clapton spec, this wood block has been removed so that the vibrato operates normally. The hardware has gleaming chrome plating on the bridge base and jack cup, and plastics are nigh-flawless, comprising the bright white Noiseless pickup covers and knobs with a one-ply pickguard.

The gloss Torino Red finish is stunningly well-kept, with just a scant few microscopic nicks and faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is pristine.

The original tweed hardshell case is included, along with the factory paperwork.
