Up for sale, a 2008 Jackson Stars Randy Rhoads Limited Edition model RR-TN02LTD in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded hardshell case. A rare Japanese domestic market model produced in extremely limited quantities, this iteration of the Rhoads platform features a string-through design and a gloss Natural finish accented by black hardware, plastics, and marquetry.
The Jackson Stars instruments are the direct descendants of the Grover Jackson line, expertly crafted at the Chu Shin factory. Originally commissioned by the late, great Randy Rhoads, his namesake guitar was actually the first Jackson made, with an unmistakable aggressive V body shape. The Rhoads V gained a following in hard rock circles soon after production began in the early 1980s, and has been played by such luminaries as Metallica's Kirk Hammett, Megadeth's Marty Friedman, and Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden, among many others.
Featuring neck-through maple construction with ash body wings and a 24 fret maple fretboard, this Jackson has a resonant, cutting acoustic response with plenty of natural midrange chop. Loaded with factory-installed USA-made Seymour Duncan humbuckers, this Rhoads V features an SH-2 Jazz in the neck position and an SH-5 SD Custom at the bridge. The SH-5 SD Custom is a slightly overwound humbucker described by Duncan as a “PAF on steroids,” offering tight lows, a bump in the upper midrange that gives more character and crunch, and an airy high end that cuts through heavy distortion and also translates to crystal-clear clean tones. One of Duncan’s most versatile humbuckers; this neck position SH-2 Jazz Model pickup features an AlNiCo V bar magnet and special coil wind, delivering a glassy treble response and full, tight bass, with scooped mids for optimal clarity even under high gain or high speed. Weighing 7lbs, this RR-TN02LTD has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Natural finish highlights the broad, uniform grain in the ash body wings, and cosmetic wear is limited to a couple tiny chips at the body points (a common occurrence on any V) and just a few faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original molded hardshell case is included.
