The pickups are bright and snappy, with a smooth midrange character and more overall sonic heft than many Teles. The Fender’s S-1 Switch offers even more tonal flexibility; when engaged while the pickups selector is in position 2 (tandem bridge and neck configuration), it engages both pickups in Series. Series wiring offers a fuller, punchier sound with a more robust midrange and low end, while traditional Parallel operation has a pleasant treble-forward shimmer. This Tele weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.The neck has Fender’s Modern C-shaped profile carve; slender with gently sloping shoulders at the nut and just a hair more overall heft further up the fretboard, measuring .820” deep at the 1st fret and .890” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard has a modern 9.5” radius with lightly rolled edges, abalone dot inlay, and stock medium jumbo fretwire. The frets are in exceptional condition, retaining their full factory height with well-rounded crowns, showing only very light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-5. This guitar plays cleanly in every register with a straight neck and responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The scale length is 25 1\/2”, and the synthetic bone nut measures 1 11\/16” in width. The headstock features Fender-branded, Schaller-made locking tuning machines which provide unparalleled stability and turn smoothly.
