Up for sale, a 2007 Ernie Ball Music Man BFR Luke II in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, and CoA. This rare iteration of Music Man’s Steve Lukather signature model was released as part of the Ball Family Reserve (BFR) series, representing top-tier, limited edition Ernie Ball Music Man offerings distributed exclusively through Music Man’s Premier Dealer Network.

Tonewoods include an alder body with a mahogany “tone block” and a quilted maple top, a birdseye maple neck, and a slab rosewood fingerboard. The HSS trio of active EMG pickups comprise an 85 at the bridge and a pair of SLV single coils. The SLV single coil was custom designed for Luke, based on an overwound SA that he used for years: true to that pickup, the SLVs have more windings and Alnico V pole pieces (as opposed to a bar) hidden beneath the cover for a more traditional string-to-string single coil response, still delivering quintessential EMG power and noiseless performance with slightly more output and punch. The 85 humbucker is meaty and potent, with a smooth muscular growl that responds exceedingly well to gain. This BFR Luke II weighs 8lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Blueberry Burst finish highlights the dimensional figuring in the quilted maple top, and cosmetic wear is limited to pick scuffing along the strum path and a couple minor dings on the lower bout on top. The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless, finished with Music Man's gunstock oil and a hand-rubbed special wax blend.

The original hardshell case is included, along with the hangtags and CoA (signed by Sterling, Scott, and Brian Ball).
