Go to the shopUp for sale, a 2006 Swart Atomic Space Tone “Mk I” tube amp head in near-mint condition and in perfect working order. One of the first two dozen AST’s ever made, this extremely early example is remarkably well-kept. Lauded for its multi-dimensional tone, excellent break-up, and soulful tube-driven reverb and tremolo, the AST easily delivers both bold, sparkling cleans and British-style sizzle when cranked. Pushing 20 watts via a pair of 6V6 power tubes and a 5AR4 rectifier, this head has a sound with tons of touch-sensitive character, yet also works as a great pedal platform, offering efficiency and good headroom for its wattage. The all aluminum, star ground chassis is housed in a hand-made, finger-jointed, solid wood cab, covered in two-tone lacquered tweed.
Features:
-Point to Point - All Hand Wired - Hand Built in the USA
-Tube-driven Tremolo and Reverb
-Output transformers are custom designed by Swart and built by HeyBoer USA
-Carbon Comp Resistors
-Mallory, Sprague and JJ Caps - only the best, all considered for their appropriate roles
-The best silver tinned cloth and Teflon covered wire that can be found
-Standby Switch incorporated into the design to extend tube life
-High and low inputs
-Hand-made, finger jointed solid pine cabinet
The lacquered tweed shows very little wear, with only very minor pitting on the black powdercoated chassis. The dated and hand-signed tube chart is intact inside the enclosure too.
