Manufactured in Japan and intended only for the domestic Japanese market, this Telecaster Custom is a faithful and very well-crafted reissue, embodying everything that makes the Telecaster Custom model so versatile and fun to play.With a Wide Range humbucker in the neck position and a traditional Tele single coil at the bridge, this Tele has a very broad tonal spectrum, from thick, meaty humbucker tones in the neck position to chiming, twangy single coil tones at the bridge. Of course the middle position is truly a \"best of both worlds\" setting, and the two pickups balance well both in terms of output and their respective tonal attributes. Weighing 8lbs 8oz, this guitar has a pleasing, crisp acoustic tone with solid sustain that translates well through the pickups. We've had this Tele professionally setup here at our shop, Mike \u0026amp; Mike's Guitar Bar, and it's currently strung with 10-46 strings and slinky action.The one-piece maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820\" deep at the 1st fret and .915\" at the 12th. The gloss-finished maple fretboard boasts practically perfect original slender vintage-style fretwire, and the guitar plays cleanly up the straight neck with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length measures 25 1\/2\", while the fretboard radius also matches vintage spec at 7 1\/4\". The nut width is 42.5mm (just shy of 1 11\/16\"). On the headstock, the Gotoh-branded tuners turn very smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The \"Crafted in Japan\" text and S-prefix serial number are present above the three-bolt F neck plate.All of the electronics work as intended, with each pickup wired to independent Volume and Tone knobs, in addition to a three-way toggle pickup selector switch. Plastics include the original quartet of witch hat knobs and stock three-ply pickguard, which shows a bit of light pick scuffing across the strum path. Stunningly well-kept, cosmetic wear is limited to a few exceedingly faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the back. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.A gigbag is included.","brand":"Fender","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":42461579215104,"sku":"S071315","price":1374.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_85cce00c-3f71-440b-bd34-13f40795457c.jpg?v=1751560628","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/2006-fender-telecaster-custom-72-vintage-reissue-guitar-tc72-black-near-mint-japan-cij","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
