This J-Craft series Dimarzio Collection Strat was a short-lived \"Crafted in Japan\" exclusive model not designed for export, featuring a shorter 24 3\/4\" scale length, contoured neck heel, satin neck profile finish, and a 9 1\/2\" radius fretboard; all player-friendly features engineered for fast playing and easy bending.Tonewoods include a basswood body, maple neck, and a thick slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard, and this guitar has a clear, balanced acoustic profile. The trio of DiMarzio Collection pickups are versatile, with unique sounds at each position on the five-way pickup selector switch; the humbucker is a Full Range Impact DCH-3, metering at 13.2k ohms, delivering a powerful, sound with ample top end bite, taking gain notably well for bold chording and searing leads. The neck and middle single coils are Full Range Impact DCS-3s with ceramic magnets and staggered pole pieces, offering single coil snap and shimmer with more sonic authority than an alnico magnet design. This Strat is featherweight at 6lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with well-rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges,  measuring .810” deep at the 1st fret and .920” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a modern 9 1\/2“ radius, and the stock medium jumbo fretwire is in great shape with well-rounded crowns, only exhibiting light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-7. This guitar plays cleanly in all registers with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The scale length is 24 3\/4“, and the nut measures 1 9\/16” in width. On the matching Vintage White headstock, the Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The “Crafted in Japan” text and S-prefix serial are present above the contoured four-bolt neck plate.All of the electronics function as intended, with the pickups wired to the stock harness and governed by a five-way selector switch and standard Volume\/Tone\/Tone controls. The bridge has light dusting of patina, and the vintage-style Strat vibrato actuates easily for quick flutters and deeper dives, complete with the original arm and slightly recessed into the body. Plastics comprise the three-ply pickguard and original knobs, and all three pickups retain the “DiMarzio Collection” silkscreen text.The top is subtly contoured and framed by black body binding, with cosmetic wear on the gloss Vintage White finish limited to a few pinhead-sized dings on the bass side of the top and a couple larger marks on the back and treble-side perimeter at the waist.
