Up for sale, a 2004 Ibanez Prestige RGT2020 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original padded gigbag and hangtags. Only produced from 2003-05 and offered exclusively to the Japanese domestic market, this rare Ibanez was crafted at the Fujigen factory as part of the upscale Prestige line. Premium features include maple/bubinga neck-through construction with mahogany body wings, DiMarzio IBZ humbuckers, Ultra neck profile, Edge Pro double locking tremolo, and an open-grain Stained Oil satin finish.
The neck-through construction yields excellent natural sustain and resonance, providing an ideal platform for the DiMarzio IBZ pickups. These humbuckers are rich and powerful: the neck pickup is fairly bright-sounding, similar to a Super 2 (DP104), while the bridge pickup has additional power and sonic breadth, resembling a cross between the Steve Morse Bridge Model (DP200) and the Super Distortion (DP100). Additionally, the five-way pickup selector switch enables coil tapping functionality for single coil sparkle and bite. Weighing 8lbs 7oz, this RGT2020 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple/bubinga (five-piece)
-Shape: Ultra (slender C), measuring .765” 1st fret, .850” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, 24-fret, 16" radius, abalone offset dot inlay
-Frets: Jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1 11/16”, Top-Lok III
-Tuners: Gotoh SG381
-Serialization: F04-prefix (Fujigen, 2004)
Body Specs:
-Wood: Mahogany
-Pickups: DiMarzio IBZ humbucker x2
-Controls: Volume, Tone, Five-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Edge Pro tremolo, dome-top knurled knobs (Violet Chrome)
The satin Stained Oil finish has an open-grain feel, revealing the construction and texture of the wood, with cosmetic wear limited to a bit of buckle rash central to the back, largely constrained to the trem cavity cover, and just a couple faint marks on the body. The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original padded gigbag is included, along with all hangtags.
