Up for sale, a 2003 Epiphone Limited Edition Casino LQ/VS in like-new, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and warranty card. Crafted at the Terada factory in Japan as a custom release for Japanese retailer Yamano, sparingly few of these premium Casino reissues were produced. A top tier model more feature-rich and vintage-correct than the Elitist series Epiphones, this Casino is virtually identical to the John Lennon-spec’d “USA” Casinos (also produced at Terada).
Vintage-correct features include a gloss Vintage Sunburst nitro lacquer finish, nylon nut and saddles, and a pair of Gibson USA-made P-90 pickups. The fully hollow maple body results in terrific natural bark and cut, and this Limited Edition Casino LQ/VS is featherweight at 5lbs 10oz. The Gibson USA P-90s are sensitive to picking dynamics, with a glassy treble sparkle, rich midrange growl and fat low end. Each pickup position is distinct, and there’s an overarching percussiveness that ensures an articulate, clear sound either clean or with thick overdrive.
