Up for sale, a 2002 Gibson Tony Iommi Signature SG in 100% original condition, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtag. Based on a limited Custom Shop model which, in turn, was loosely inspired by an SG made for the Sabbath legend by John Birch, this Iommi model features Honduram mahogany construction with a 24 fret ebony fingerboard and cross inlay, an Ebony gloss lacquer finish, and a pair of Iommi signature humbuckers.
The first artist signature pickup designed and built by Gibson, the Iommi humbuckers feature a unique combination of ceramic and Alnico II magnets, designed for maximum sustain, blistering highs, powerful-yet-focused lows, and gain-ready aggression. The pickups are epoxy potted for optimal feedback rejection and use with high gain. This Iommi Signature SG weighs 7lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Cosmetic wear on the gloss Ebony nitro lacquer finish includes buckle rash across the back, pick scuffing on top, a few chips and dings, and limited rack rash on the lower bout edge and adjacent to the nut. The neck profile has some shallow marks worn smooth through play, with one touched-up ding on the treble-side shoulder at the 7th fret. There are also singular doweled mounting holes from a different tuner set just inset from the Grovers.
The original black tolex hardshell case with silver cross silkscreen graphic is included, along with the hangtag; two of the latches are not functional.
