Up for sale, a 2002 Fender Stratocaster Blue Flower model ST57-85 BFL in showroom-clean, 100% original condition and perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. A short run model only offered from 2002-2003, this Stratocaster is built on the platform of a '57 reissue model, yet with the iconic Blue Flower foil pattern beneath the gloss clear coat synonymous with its original release at the tail end of the 1960s. Crafted in Japan, this Strat is extremely well-made featuring a basswood body and one-piece maple neck.

The original ceramic magnet single coil pickups have more punch and power than the typical alnico design, sounding distinct and clear in all positions on the five-way switch. If you're looking to deliver plenty of Strat power and sparkle, it's hard to beat this particular pickup complement. Weighing 8lbs 4oz, we've had this Strat professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The one-piece maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve and well-rounded shoulders, measuring .850” deep at the 1st fret and .960” at the 12th.  The maple fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius, with dot inlay and immaculate original slender frets which retain their full factory height. The guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2” scale with a straight neck and responsive, well-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 42mm (1.650”) in width, and the headstock features a traditional small Pre-CBS Strat shape with Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines that have the correct vintage look, turn smoothly, and hold pitch well. The "Crafted in Japan" script text and P-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All the electronics work as they should, with the pickups wired to the stock five-way pickup selector switch and standard Volume/Tone/Tone control array. The vibrato has a full-size zinc block, and the unit is very responsive for smooth surfy warbles and deeper dives, jumping back into tune with ease. The bridge’s chrome plating is bright and clean, as is the input jack plate. Plastics include the Blue Flower pickguard and original trio of knobs, all of which show sparingly little aging. The Blue Flower gloss finish has barely a scratch on it, and the gloss on the neck profile is equally pristine.

An upgradel molded, Fender-branded hardshell case is included (this model was originally offered new with a gigbag).
