Up for sale, a 2001 Ibanez Prestige RG2680 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. Produced only from 2001-2002 and offered only to the Japanese domestic market, this Ibanez was crafted at the Fujigen factory as part of the upscale Prestige line. Features include a DiMarzio HSH pickup complement, Ultra neck profile, Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo, and a bookmatched flame maple top with a Deep Red finish.
The humbucker in the bridge position is a DiMarzio Steve’s Special, a high-output pickup that boosts bass and treble frequencies while scaling back the mids, making it ideal for both fast-paced soloing and clean chords. The neck humbucker is a DiMarzio PAF Pro, designed to combine the open sound of a PAF with plenty of presence and cut, interacting well with high gain amps. The central single coil is a DiMarzio Blue Velvet, yielding shimmer and snap, blending well with the humbuckers at the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector switch. This Ibanez weighs 8lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
