Up for sale, a 2001 Ibanez J Custom JCS21 Limited Edition in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded hardshell case, CoA, and hangtags. This exceedingly rare Ibanez S Series model was crafted in Japan at the FujiGen factory as part of the top-tier J Custom line, featuring multicolor Japanese Washi-style paper on the top and headstock face. Among the rarest official Ibanez models of its era, at most 12 JCS21s were ever produced, implying a retailer or event-exclusive run.
Tonewoods include a slender mahogany body, set mahogany/bubinga neck, and 22-fret rosewood fretboard, and this JCS21 is featherweight at 6lbs 13oz. The pickups are a pair of DiMarzio PAF Pro humbuckers: one of DiMarzio’s classic winds, these pickups are designed to deliver the open, clear sound of a PAF with more presence and cut to ensure no muddiness when played through effects. It has an ideal blend of snap and chunk, with a spike in the midrange that provides a subtle “aw” vowel sound, described by DiMarzio as “like a wah-wah pedal stopped in the middle.” The five-way switch also coil taps the humbuckers in positions 2 and 4. This JCS21 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
