Up for sale, a 2000s Roland SP-404 sampling workstation in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. This sampler was critical in the development of Lo-Fi Hip-Hop and has been used by a myriad of artists including J Dilla, Flying Lotus, and Radiohead. It features a user-friendly interface with 12 large pads, 24 effects including Ring Mod, BPM Looper, and more, plus a built-in microphone and 1/4” Microphone In jack for quick sampling.

The SP-404 has line L/R input and output jacks, and full MIDI compatibility. It offers Lo-Fi, Stereo, Gate, Loop, and Reverse sample modes, with Tap Tempo for exceptional feel-based editing functionality. It has 12-voice polyphony and can store up to 24 sequences (any length from 1-99 measures) on the memory at any one time. Additionally, with the use of a 1GB CompactFlash card (not included) sampling times can be as long as ~770 minutes in Lo-Fi mode or up to 386 minutes in Standard mode. The CompactFlash card also enables importing of Wav/AIFF files.

This unit is in great shape, with just a handful of light scratches on the enclosure. The three-digit LCD screen is bright and scratch-free, and the buttons all actuate smoothly.
