A rare Japanese domestic market model, the Jackson Stars instruments are the direct descendants of the Grover Jackson line, expertly crafted at the Chu Shin factory. Originally commissioned by the late, great Randy Rhoads, his namesake guitar was actually the first Jackson made. It quickly gained a following in hard rock circles soon after production began in the early 1980s, and has been played by such luminaries as Metallica's Kirk Hammett, Megadeth's Marty Friedman, and Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden, among many others. Decades after the design first made waves, the Rhoads' aggressive body shape remains unmistakable, and it plays as fast as it looks.Featuring neck through maple construction with alder body wings, a string through body design, and a 24 fret ebony board with jumbo fretwire, this Jackson has an immediate, crisp acoustic tone with a resonance and sustain not afforded the more common vibrato-equipped iterations of the Rhoads model. Loaded with a pair of USA-made Seymour Duncan humbuckers, this Rhoads V features an SH-1 in the neck position and a TB-5 in the bridge. The SH-1 '59 model is designed in the spirit of the original PAF, with sweet, singing sustain, wound to deliver full-sounding chords and articulate midrange attack. The bridge pickup is a TB-5 Custom Trembucker, with aggressive midrange, treble attack, and exceptional sustain, perfect for screaming solos. Lightweight at 7lbs 2oz, this Jackson has been professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, accurate intonation, and fast action.The maple neck features a medium C shaped profile carve with good shoulder, measuring .825\" deep at the 1st fret and .905\" at the 12th. The bound ebony fretboard has a 15\" fretboard radius with shark fin inlay and stock jumbo fretwire. The frets have good height and meat, with light uniform wear on the crowns of frets 1-8, faintly extending exclusively beneath the plain strings to fret 15, and virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The guitar plays effortlessly up the straight neck with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is a full 25 1\/2“, and the nut measures 1 5\/8“ in width. The bound headstock features the Jackson logo and set of black Jackson Stars-branded tuners that turn smoothly. The serial number is stamped into the fretboard, just beyond the 24th fret.The electronics function as they should, with a three-way pickup selector toggle, individual Volume controls for each pickup and a Master Tone knob. The black hardware shows light patina, with a sliver of wear on the edges of the black metal control plate. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black finish includes a small missing piece of alder on the bass side wing tip, a couple small finish chips on the treble side body tip and back headstock edge, and concentrated buckle rash on the back of the body. There are additional scattered scuffs and minor marks consistent with honest use on the body as a whole. In contrast, the neck profile sports a pristine smooth gloss finish.The original Jackson-branded fitted gigbag is included.","brand":"Jackson","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":40186478133434,"sku":"061391","price":1349.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_65d3ac61-a1b4-44e7-803e-18798fa292e9.jpg?v=1751506774","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/2000s-jackson-stars-rr-j2b-randy-rhoads-flying-v-electric-guitar-black-japan","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
