Up for sale, a 2000 Fender Mustang Bass model MB98-70SD in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This “Crafted in Japan” Mustang Bass is a faithful reissue of the classic short scale Fender model, long ago discontinued, featuring a factory-installed split-coil Seymour Duncan USA-made Duncan Designed MB pickup and a rare Daphne Blue finish.
Tonewoods include an alder body and a maple neck capped by a thick slab rosewood fretboard. There's a certain pluck and punch unique to this bass that's particularly appealing and sits well in a mix, with enough thump to fill out the low end nicely. It’s a bit more focused than a Precision Bass, offering good midrange heft and aggression. Lightweight at 7lbs 13oz, this Mustang Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
