Out Of Stock
Up for sale, a 1999 Gibson Firebird V, heavily played and professionally maintained, complete with the original hardshell case and Gibson/Yamano hangtags. Featuring 9-ply mahogany/walnut neck-through construction, the instrument's warmth and natural sustain translates faithfully through the pickup pair. Gibson's stock Firebird mini humbucker is intact in the neck position, while the bridge pickup has been upgraded to a Seymour Duncan Antiquity Firebird pickup with faithful vintage construction. The tone is rich and full, with plenty of midrange content and an aggressive treble bite. This Firebird V weighs 8lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The Vintage Sunburst nitro lacquer gloss finish has various dings and scuffs, with light buckle rash central to the back and missing finish on the back of the treble-side cutaway (not buckle rash-related). There is additional brushed-on clear coat on the bass-side upper bout on top, and significant scuffing/wear adjacent to the stoptail inserts. The neck retains its smooth gloss, with just a few shallow marks on the profile length.

The original brown tolex hardshell case with pink plush interior is included, along with the Gibson/Yamano hangtags (this Gibson USA Firebird was originally distributed in Japan via Yamano).
