Up for sale, a 1999 Fender Jaguar '62 vintage reissue model JG66-85 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A rare custom color iteration of the JG66-85 model finished in gloss Fiesta Red, this early "Crafted In Japan" Fender was made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, rarely seen outside its country of origin.

A guitar designed to out-twang any other Fender, the Jaguar can sparkle with the best, delivering biting, crystalline clean tones and responding very well to layers of fuzz and drive too. With its myriad of switching options, the Jag boasts on/off switches for each single coil as well as a low cut switch to deliver even spankier tic-tac tones. The Rhythm Circuit offers further flexibility, thickening up the sound and a perfect setting for fatter, warmer tones that retain clarity. This guitar weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder as you travel up the fretboard and lightly rolled fretboard edges in every register, measuring .825" deep at the 1st fret and .945" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has a 7 1/4" vintage-spec fretboard radius, and original slender fretwire which shows moderate wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3, with fainter wear extending to fret 6. The guitar plays easily up the 24" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 42mm (1.650") in width, the original Kluson-style Gotoh tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The "Crafted in Japan" script text and P-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics function as intended, the chrome plating on the hardware is extremely clean, and the vibrato and stock bridge work well together for quick dives and warbles. Plastics include the stock knobs and parchment pickguard. Extremely well-kept, cosmetic wear is limited to some dings on the lower bout body edge, a couple small finish chips on the body perimeter, and a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the body as a whole. The ambered gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

A new Gator-branded gigbag is included.

***We are dealers for the Mastery M2 bridge, OMV-P Offset Vibrato, and Lollar pickups, any or all of which can be installed prior to shipment for an additional charge***
