Up for sale, a 1997 Rickenbacker 355V59 in like-new, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. A one-off custom order example offered through Rickenbacker’s Japanese distributor Yamano, the base model 350V59 is in itself an extremely rare model, ostensibly a full-scale version of the John Lennon 325V59. But the 355V59 with a factory-installed Ac’cent vibrato and a custom color Turquoise finish is a true unicorn.
With a full 24 3/4“ scale length and a semi-hollow Eastern rock maple body, this 355V59 has a notably immediate, resonant acoustic response. The trio of Toaster Top pickups feature alnico magnet construction, and these pickups are the hotter variety produced in this era, with more overall body and output than later "scatterwound" iterations, yielding plenty of quintessential Ric jangle and clarity. This 355V59 weighs 7lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
