Up for sale, a 1997 Gibson EDS-1275 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, and case candy. An upscale example with gold-plated hardware, this Gibson boasts a custom color Alpine White gloss finish. This double neck SG was ordered by Gibson's Japanese distributor Yamano, and Gibson's USA-made guitars distributed via Yamano are often considered among their best, featuring the highest quality woods hand-picked for Gibson's discerning Japanese audience.

Introduced in 1963, the EDS-1275 is an extremely well-crafted and sonically stunning instrument; this double trouble SG offers an upper 12-string neck and lower 6-string neck with solid mahogany bodies and mahogany necks capped with bound rosewood fretboards. With two pairs of Gibson's 490R and 498T humbuckers, each neck covers a ton of tonal ground. The tone from the upper neck is chiming yet warm, with an overall tonal breadth not afforded many 12-strings. The pickups offer muscle and meat while not overshadowing the top end chime inherent in the 12-string design. The lower 6-string neck has plenty of growl and cut as well. The guitar weighs 13lbs 9oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Alpine White nitro lacquer exhibits light yellowing of the clear coat (more evident on the back), and this true case queen shows light muting of the gloss central to the back from contact with the case lining. Cosmetic wear is limited to light scuffing along the pick path and a few minor nicks on the instrument as a whole. There is a tiny "tan line" on the back of the 6-string peghead from a previously removed decal.

The original brown tolex Gibson USA hardshell case is included, along with the GIbson/Yamano hangtags and case candy.
