The original 18W Budda Twinmaster, developed by Jeff Bober and Scot Sier and first introduced in 1995, is one of the main factors behind the rise in popularity of low-wattage boutique amplifiers. This extremely rare, pre-Peavey example delivers the raw, soulful tone that initially made these amps so beloved, paired with the original 4x10” speaker cabinet.The Twinmaster features a single channel, dual-input (Normal and Hi Gain) design. The Normal input is more restrained, yielding a tone reminiscent of an early Fender Black Panel Deluxe, and the Hi Gain input is designed for maximum distortion and sounds like a hybrid of a Marshall Plexi and Vox AC30. This amp is an absolute monster, with a fat, creamy tone that lends itself to dirty blues and high gain distortion. Via the 4x10 cabinet, the amp fills a room in a way few 18 watt configurations can, and the limited headroom is perfect for an edge-of-breakup vintage tube sound that is notably dynamic and responsive to user inputs. It can also clean up well, and this amp is voiced to stay articulate without getting muddy when backing off input volume. The simple controls include Volume, Treble, and Bass knobsThe circuit is untouched and was handwired by Jeff Bober himself, with top-notch componentry including custom wound transformers. The tube complement comprises a matched pair of Sovtek EL84 power tubes, with a Svetlana 5AUG rectifier and a preamp section of two Mesa SPAX7s (high grade 12AX7). The output impedance can be toggled between 4 and 8 ohms, and the amp also boasts an effects loop. The back of the chassis retains the handwritten silver Sharpie serial, and the TMC-prefix dates this amp to 1997.The matching 4x10” cabinet is crafted from solid pine and features an open back design. The cabinet retains the original quartet of Eminence 10” speakers, rated at 8 ohms and featuring ceramic magnet construction. These speakers deliver a punchy, smooth sound that handles the crunch of the head very well, tempering the gain with a bit less high end bite and a touch more lower-mid heft.Cosmetic touches include black tolex, purple Budda badges, bright white piping, and purple\/black grillcloth on the cabinet. Both the amp and the cabinet are in fantastic shape, with just a few minor marks on the enclosure edges. The original trio of knobs are present, and the faceplate graphics are pristine.The original factory paperwork is included, including the user manual and 1997 price list.","brand":"Budda","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":43779954114816,"sku":"TMC0278","price":2499.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_9bd3e68d-6de7-45ef-82fe-fde84c4b7f42.jpg?v=1751544005","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/1997-budda-twinmaster-head-4x10-speaker-cabinet-near-mint-w-factory-paperwork","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
