Up for sale, a 1996 Gibson Jimmy Page Les Paul in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. Only crafted from 1995-1999, during the “good wood” era of Gibson production, this Jimmy Page-endorsed Les Paul Standard features a flame maple top with a Light Honey Burst nitro lacquer finish accented by gold hardware, Grover Rotomatic tuners, and an exceptionally versatile control configuration with coil tapping, phase reversal, and series/parallel switching.

This Jimmy Page Les Paul was ordered by Gibson’s Japanese distributor Yamano; Gibson’s USA-made guitars distributed via Yamano are often considered to be among their absolute best, featuring the highest quality woods picked for Gibson’s discerning Japanese audience. In this case, the rare “Premium Quality for Japan” hangtag is also present.

Weighing 9lbs 9oz, tonewoods include a carved two-piece maple top, mahogany body, one-piece mahogany neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard. The 496R humbucker in the neck position produces incredible sustain and cutting power, offering accentuated highs with increased definition, perfectly tailored for high gain scenarios. The 500T bridge humbucker is one of Gibson’s most powerful pickups, containing a three ceramic magnet structure, which enables a no-holds-barred rock and roll crunch that never loses its rich combination of enhanced lows and crystal clear highs. The four push/pull pots feature independent coil taps for single coil spank and sparkle, series/parallel switching, and a phase reversal switch for pinched out-of-phase thwack. This Jimmy Page Les Paul has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
