Up for sale, a 1996 Fender Japan Brad Gillis/Night Ranger Signature Stratocaster model ST-BG in collector-grade, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell display case and hangtags/case candy. An extremely limited model with purportedly less than a dozen produced with Gillis’ distinctive rectangular jack plate, this official Fender Japan Brad Gillis signature model follows the Fernandes-made models offered in the ‘80s. This guitar is hand-signed by Gillis, presumably when Night Ranger recorded their 1997 Rock in Japan live album.
Designed as a faithful recreation of Night Ranger and Ozzy guitarist Brad Gillis’ beloved main axe “Bubba,” this ST-BG features an HSS pickup complement, Floyd Rose tremolo, flat output jack, 22-fret rosewood fretboard with 9 1/2“ radius, and gloss Torino Red finish with Black neck/headstock.
The neck and middle position ST-Single single coil pickups feature ceramic magnet construction, yielding more punch and power than a typical alnico design with terrific clarity and immediacy. The bridge position Dragster humbucker is firmly wound in the PAF camp, delivering the tailored midrange clarity and smooth warmth of that classic design, taking gain notably well. This ST-BG weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
