Up for sale, a 1994 Taylor 812ce in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Produced when Taylor's output was much smaller than it is today, this 812ce features a label hand-signed by Robert Taylor, expertly crafted in El Cajon, CA. This Taylor Grand Concert body cutaway acoustic electric features an X-braced Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, tropical mahogany neck, and bound ebony fingerboard, outfitted with the Fishman undersaddle pickup offered in this era of Taylor production.
A single strum yields ample projection, with both the glassy treble detail for which Taylor is known, along with a surprising amount of muscle and power. The wound strings speak clearly with limited compression when digging in, and the guitar yields a warm, round lower-midrange response and just a hint of brassy growl.
