Up for sale, a 1994 Fender American Vintage '62 Precision Bass in exceptional, 100% original condition and perfect working order, complete with the original tweed hardshell case and all hangtags and factory paperwork. A discontinued model faithfully replicating the golden age specs of the Precision Bass model, this American Vintage series instrument features an alder body, maple neck, thick slab rosewood fretboard, and black bobbin split-coil pickup.

The instrument has a natural acoustic authority and roundness that translates faithfully through the pickup. The low end is thick and detailed, with plenty of broad thup when rolling the Tone knob back to taste. Weighing 9lbs 3oz, we've had this Precision Bass professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with roundwound 45-105 strings, comfortable action and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve at the nut with a gentle increase in overall heft and shoulder as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .805" deep at the 1st fret and .950" at the 12th. The dark slab rosewood fretboard has lightly rolled fretboard edges, retaining the original slender fretwire which shows just a touch of wear on the crowns of frets 1-4. The bass plays cleanly up the 34" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures a full 1 3/4" in width, and the headstock features a clean Precision Bass waterslide decal and long stem clover button tuners that turn smoothly. The neck heel is pencil dated 2-15-94, with an additional date stamp in the neck pocket from February of '94.

The electronics function as intended, and the black bobbin pickup is wired to original CTS pots with untouched solder joints. Hardware includes the threaded bridge saddles and flat-topped chrome knobs, and a red meatball tortoise pickguard and finger rest round out the plastics. The three-tone Sunburst nitro lacquer gloss finish shows just a few light finish scratches and minor marks on the body as a whole. The ambered gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original tweed G&G hardshell case is included, along with all of the original hangtags and factory paperwork.
