Produced in an increasingly celebrated era of Gibson production colloquially known as the “good wood” era, the ES-175 was made only in small quantities throughout the '90s. Befitting the all-maple body, the guitar has an articulate, snappy treble response, with a warm, broad tonal profile thanks to the fully hollow construction. The 490R and 490T humbuckers are wound in the vein of a PAF, producing a modern edge and more accentuated midrange. The bridge pickup has a sweet growl and bite, while the neck pickup is bold and round with a clear percussive chop.
