An early Fender Japan model, this \"Made in Japan\" Jazz Bass was produced at the Fujigen factory and is an uncommon, upper-tiered iteration with features including USA Fender pickups and vintage-spec hardware comprising spiral bridge saddles and full-size tuner baseplates. Made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, this Jazz Bass rivals Fender's US production and is rarely seen outside its country of origin.Weighing 8lbs 11oz, this Jazz Bass has a lively and resonant acoustic response, featuring an alder body, maple neck, and dark rosewood slab fretboard. The bridge pickup offers a smooth growl and distinctive upper midrange character, accentuating the top end articulation of a set of fresh roundwound 45-100 strings. The neck pickup, in contrast, has a thicker, broader tonality, delivering a present thump with the Tone knob backed off to taste. Professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike's Guitar Bar, this Jazz Bass plays well with comfortable action and spot-on intonation.The maple neck has a medium depth U-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .825\" deep at the 1st fret and .985\" at the 12th. The bass adheres to traditional Fender specifications with a 1 1\/2\" nut width, full 34\" scale length, and 7 1\/4\" fretboard radius. The thick slab rosewood fretboard is an extremely dark and tight-grained cut of this tonewood, and the slender frets have their full factory height with well-rounded crowns, showing only faint wear on the crowns of frets 1-4. The neck is straight with an optimally adjusted truss rod, and the bass plays well in all registers. The peghead sports a '62 style \"Fender Jazz Bass\" decal, along with original tuning machines with full-size vintage-spec baseplates and clover buttons. The \"Made in Japan\" text and Q-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt neck plate.All of the electronics work as they should, with stock USA-made Fender pickups and full-size pots that date to August of 1993. The chrome-plated bridge base and control plate have great shine, and the bridge saddles are the vintage-correct spiral design. The original rich red tortoise pickguard contrasts with the  three-tone gloss Sunburst finish, and cosmetic wear is limited to some scattered small dings primarily on the back and body perimeter, with a couple marks of note on the lower bout body edge. The neck profile retains its clean, smooth ambered gloss.The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.","brand":"Fender","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":42351729410304,"sku":"Q008487","price":1399.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_f0a87b60-3b21-4338-8fce-91ed6e734e6d.jpg?v=1751566318","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/1993-fender-jazz-bass-62-vintage-reissue-jb62-80-sunburst-japan-mij-fujigen","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
