Up for sale, a 1992 Gibson ES-335 Dot in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This extremely well-kept ES-335 features a deeply figured curly maple body, dating to an increasingly heralded era of Gibson production colloquially known as the “good wood” era; this particular 335 has been upgraded with a pair of Bare Knuckle Stormy Monday humbuckers (original ‘57 Classic PAFs included).

The ES-335 Dot represents Gibson's first solid attempt at recreating the magic of the late '50s dot neck ES-335, and this guitar features traditional tonewoods including a deeply figured semi-hollow maple body (maple centerblock), one-piece mahogany neck with long tenon joint, and a bound rosewood fingerboard. Strummed acoustically, this ES-335 has a big, broad tone with plenty of treble cut and smooth growl in the bass register, and this rich tonal palette translates well through the upgraded pickups.

The Bare Knuckle Stormy Monday humbuckers are faithful recreations of ‘57 and ‘58 PAFs, handcrafted with 42 AWG plain enamel wire, butyrate bobbins, calibrated sand-cast Alnico II magnet, and asymmetrical coils; these pickups are sweet and articulate, with plenty of bass warmth, tailored midrange clarity, and an exceptional dynamic, touch-sensitive feel. This ES-335 Dot weighs 8lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Remarkably well-kept for over three decades, this guitar features gleaming nickel-plated hardware. The Antique Natural gloss lacquer highlights dense, three-dimensional curly flame which extends with great consistency across the body. There are only a few extremely faint finish scratches in the clear coat, with a couple small areas of faint wear in the clear coat adjacent to the back binding, appearing fractionally lighter in shade than the surrounding finish. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

The original brown Gibson USA hardshell case is included, along with the original ‘57 Classic PAF humbuckers.
