Crafted at the venerable Fujigen factory during the golden age of “Made in Japan” production, this Stratocaster is an extremely rare limited run model offered under the short-lived Custom Edition banner (which itself was an extension of the ExTrad branding). A premium spin on the 1954 Stratocaster platform, the ST54-75RV features black bobbin Fender American Vintage 57\/62 pickups and a nitro lacquer Vintage Natural gloss finish.The ST54-75RV sports an ash body and a one-piece maple neck, with a dynamic and bold acoustic response, offering the immediacy, midrange complexity and detailed note attack of its tonewoods. The American Vintage 57\/62 pickups are faithful to vintage spec with black bobbin flatwork, cloth-covered leads, and staggered, unbeveled alnico magnets. Each position on the three-way pickup selector switch is vital and distinct; the bridge is sparkling, and the neck has a throaty, bell-like roundness, and the \"in-between\" switch settings have a scooped cut. This Strat weighs 8lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.The one-piece maple neck has a substantial soft V-shaped profile carve with lightly rolled fretboard edges and ideal heft, measuring .910” deep at the 1st fret and .990” at the 12th. The fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1\/4“ radius, and the stock slender fretwire is practically perfect, playing cleanly up the 25 1\/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The bone nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. The headstock has a round string tree and “spaghetti” logo, and the stock set of Kluson-style tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The back of the headstock retains the small “Custom Edition” decal, the “Made in Japan” text and M-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate, and the neck heel and pocket retain the factory model stamps.All of the electronics function as intended; the factory-installed Fender American Vintage 57\/62 pickups are wired to the stock harness with cloth-covered leads and full-size Japanese pots that date to September, 1992. The chrome-plated jack cup and bridge base have plenty of shine, with a light dusting of patina on the Fender-embossed saddles. The vibrato actuates easily and bounces quickly back to pitch from surfy warbles and deeper dives. Plastics comprise the original trio of knobs and the one-ply white pickguard, all of which are notably well-kept.The gloss Vintage Natural nitro lacquer finish highlights the broad grain in the ash body, and the instrument shows sparingly little cosmetic wear, with just a scant few tiny marks on the body as a whole. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.The original tweed hardshell case is included, along with the factory hangtags.","brand":"Fender","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":43778293334272,"sku":"M029878","price":2649.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_d5236b9c-4033-4060-8696-c4a08f9afa14.jpg?v=1751513720","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/1992-fender-custom-edition-54-stratocaster-st54-75rv-usa-pickups-lacquer-finish-tweed-case-japan-mij","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
