Go to the shopUp for sale, a 1991 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Plus Bass LPB-2 in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a padded softshell case. This uncommon Les Paul Bass iteration features a pair of stock Bartolini active pickups, an ebony fingerboard, and a gloss Transparent Amber nitro lacquer finish. This is a notably early example, predating the first appearance of the LPB-2 in the Gibson catalog (officially introduced in 1992).
Tonewoods include a mahogany body, slab flame maple top, mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard, and this LPB-2 weighs 9lbs 11oz. The pair of Bartolini HB active humbuckers are powerful and full-sounding, with plenty of muscular lower-midrange aggression and focused, punchy bass register heft. The Bartolini TCT active preamp enables a great deal of tonal sculpting via the center detent boost/cut Treble and Bass EQ knobs, with a center-detent pickup blend knob in lieu of a pickup selector. This Les Paul Deluxe Plus LBP-2 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
