Up for sale, a circa 1990s Tokai Blazing Fire in excellent condition and in perfect working order, augmented with a pair of DiMarzio Super Distortion humbuckers. This is a wood-bodied reissue of the original aluminum body Talbo (short for Tokai aluminum body) model introduced by Tokai in 1982, a decidedly unique Japanese instrument with a double-teardrop design.
The upgraded pair of DiMarzio Super Distortion humbuckers are engineered for high gain; with boosted mids, punchy lows, and fat highs, these pickups can easily push a tube amp into breakup. Chords are crunchy and chunky, and melodic lines have a searing, white-hot quality that sits great in a mix. This Tokai is featherweight at 6lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
