Up for sale, a circa 1990 Charvel by Jackson DK-065-HH electric guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with a custom color Bubblegum Pink gloss finish. Made at the Chu Shin factory in Japan and sold exclusively to the Japanese domestic market, this rare maple fretboard version of the DK-065-HH is built for shred. Essentially a spin on the Model 3A Charvel platform, this DK-065 features a quartersawn rock maple neck, a thick slab maple fingerboard, and a yellow poplar body. The bridge pickup is a Jackson J90C ultra high-output, distortion class humbucker with an accentuated low frequency response, while the neck is a medium output J50 humbucker that produces a full, natural sound with great definition. Weighing 7lbs 9oz, this Charvel has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, spot-on intonation, and fast action.

The quatersawn rock maple neck has a slender D-shaped profile with rounded shoulders, measuring .750” deep at the 1st fret and .860” at the 12th. The maple fretboard is an unusual feature and a thick 22 fret slab with the original jumbo fretwire. The frets retain their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing virtually no wear and playing cleanly in every register. The scale length measures 25 1/2“, and the phenolic locking nut measures 42mm in width (1.650"), holding pitch exceptionally well against the most dynamic of dives with the the stock Charvel-branded Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo system. On the headstock, the original black Jackson-branded Gotoh-made tuners are present and turn smoothly.

All of the electronics work as they should, with Master Volume and Tone knobs and a three-way pickup selector toggle governing the Jackson HH pickup pair. Hardware includes the pair of black knurled knobs and the Floyd Rose-licensed and Charvel-branded tremolo, ideal for deep dives and sharp flutters. The Bubblegum Pink gloss finish is a lighter, less saturated iteration of this custom color (still the only pink offered in the Charvel/Jackson Japan catalog in this era), and the finish is extremely clean, with wear limited to some faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss and a few tiny marks on the body as a whole. The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.

A gigbag is included.
