Up for sale, a 1990 Ibanez Artstar AM200 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This early Ibanez Artstar features a highly-figured burl mahogany body with a gloss Antique Violin finish and a pair of Super 58 humbuckers. The AM200 was the thinnest and smallest offering in the Artstar line, introduced in ‘88, marrying the comfort and size of a solid body with the rich, open sound of a semi-hollow.

Tonewoods include burl mahogany top, back, and sides with a maple centerblock, three-piece maple/mahogany neck, and a bound 22-fret ebony fingerboard. Acoustically, this guitar offers both glassy immediacy and warmth, qualities faithfully captured by the Super 58 humbuckers. The PAF-style Super 58s are bright and bold, with a harmonically-rich midrange and sparkling highs; the bridge has a focused upper-midrange punch, with smooth, sweet sounds when toggling to the neck. This AM200 is featherweight at 6lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Antique Violin finish highlights the dimensional figuring in the burl mahogany, framed by multi-ply binding. Cosmetic wear is limited to mild buckle rash and a singular finish chip central to the back, some minor dings on the body as a whole and light wear on the top headstock edge. The gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth, with a few shallow marks that don’t distract the palm.

A gigbag is included.
