Up for sale, a 1990 Greco Zemaitis Z-3000 Limited Edition 30th Anniversary model in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. The Fujigen-made Z-3000 is among the rarest and most unique Greco models of all time, and an extremely faithful replica of Ronnie Wood’s iconic custom-built Zemaitis Disk-Front, colloquially known as the “Stay With Me” guitar (due to Wood using it to record that classic track). Wood and Greco had a years-long relationship by ‘90, and Greco spared no expense with this instrument, with a production run limited to 300 instruments worldwide.
The distinctive circular aluminum “scratch plate” on top is highly accurate to the original, and as the story goes, Zemaitis actually lost the original designs for the “Blackbeard’s Island” (Treasure Island) engraving on the scratch plate, and used the exceptionally faithful Z-3000 to reverse engineer the design for Zemaitis’ own subsequent reproductions. Other top-tier, vintage-spec features include a 24-fret ebony fingerboard, a trio of Screamin’ PAF-style humbuckers with independent pickup On/Off buttons, maple set-neck construction with a mahogany body, and a gloss Black nitro lacquer finish.
This Z-3000 weighs 9lbs 15oz, balancing well on a strap and yielding great natural resonance and glassy detail. The trio of PAF-style humbuckers deliver a great array of vintage tonalities: the bridge position has a rich growl and cut with great note attack, the neck pickup is fat and round, and the middle has a woody, gutsy chop. Additionally, the independent pickup On/Off buttons enable every possible pickup combination. This Z-3000 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Extremely clean, the gloss Black nitro lacquer finish shows only a few minor dings and finish scratches, largely on the back and lower bout perimeter. The smooth nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless save for one shallow chip on the bass-side shoulder behind the 5th fret that is not distracting to the palm while fretting.
The original brown tolex hardshell case is included, along with the alternate plain truss rod cover.
