Up for sale, a 1990 Fender American Standard Stratocaster in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags, this Strat is a one-owner instrument, well-kept for over 30 years.

An early Corona factory American Standard Strat, this Fender reflects the high quality reinvention of the Stratocaster platform in the modern era. With reverence for Fender's past and a host of modern, player-friendly features, this alder-bodied USA Strat features a 9 1/2" fretboard radius on the 22 fret fingerboard, medium jumbo fretwire, a two-point tremolo and Schaller tuning machines, and TBX tone control circuitry, all tweaks on the classic Strat platform that ensure optimal playability and tone. The trio of alnico magnet single coil pickups offer plenty of bite and articulation, and the neck pickup is particularly sparkling, with a round, bell-like tone that's perfect for lead work. Naturally, the five-way switch offers classic Strat quack in the 2 and 4 positions as well. The guitar balances well on a strap and weighs 7lbs 15oz. This Strat has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .800” deep at the 1st fret and .865” at the 12th. The slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard retains the stock medium jumbo frets which have their full factory height with well-rounded crowns, showing just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The guitar plays easily up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock retains the original Fender-stamped Schaller tuning machines which turn very smoothly and hold pitch well with clean chrome plating. The neck heel and pocket have factory stamps spanning December, 1989 and January, 1990.

All of the original electronics function as intended with the traditional Strat control complement, untouched solder joints, and original CTS pots. Featuring a TBX tone pot, this unique center detent pot enhances your tonal palette without the use of a battery. From 0-5, the TBX is a standard tone control, but from 5-10 the resistance decreases, allowing more bass, treble, presence and output to flow to your amp. The chrome plating on the hardware is bright and clean, with light patina across the bent steel saddles. Plastics include a three-ply white guard that shows just a touch of graceful aging (as do the knobs), while the pickup covers remain bright white. There is some requisite strum wear across the pickguard, and the gloss Black finish has one ding on top at the bass-side waist, with some additional minor marks and light finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss, largely relegated to the back. The smooth gloss finish is retained on the profile length.

The original Fender USA molded hardshell case is included, along with the hangtags.
