Up for sale, a 1988 Heritage Stat Deluxe in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A direct descendant of Gibson, Heritage guitars are still handcrafted under the guidance of original Gibson employees at the Kalamazoo, Michigan factory. After Gibson left their original factory in 1984, their employees purchased it and have continued the legacy and pioneering spirit that defined Gibson's golden age. The Stat Deluxe is a decidedly unique, uncommon early Heritage creation designed to tap into the flourishing “Superstrat” market of the ‘80s, very much out-of-line with Heritage’s standard Gibson-style models, offering a shred-ready SSH pickup complement, pointed headstock, and Kahler Spyder tremolo, all while still boasting premium Heritage features including a carved, contoured two-piece quilted maple top, set-neck construction, and a headstock stinger.
The body and neck are crafted from mahogany, ensuring terrific midrange resonance and growl, paired with the natural sustain inherent to the set-neck construction. The pair of Schaller S-6 single coil pickups in the neck and middle positions feature oversized flush-mount pole pieces, delivering plenty of sparkle and bounce with a slightly fuller low-mid response and overall authority than other designs. The humbucker in the bridge is essentially a slightly souped-up take on a classic PAF-style design, yielding the focused lows, tailored midrange clarity, and sweet treble articulation of that classic design. This Stat Deluxe weighs 8lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
