Go to the shopUp for sale, a 1988 Gibson Les Paul Custom in collector-grade, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded “chainsaw” case and warranty paperwork. A practically pristine example that’s been extremely well preserved for nearly four decades, this Les Paul Custom features a pair of Bill Lawrence-designed Super Humbuckers and a dark Heritage Cherry Sunburst gloss nitro lacquer finish.
Weighing 11lbs 4oz and offering ample sustain, note detail and punch, traditional tonewoods include a mahogany body with a three-piece maple top, one-piece mahogany neck, and a bound ebony fingerboard. The Bill Lawrence-designed Super Humbuckers, known as Gibson's "circuit board" pickups, were short-lived (1988-89) medium output pickups which handle gain extremely well, delivering a detailed array of tones that can be bright and growly or thick and punchy with the flip of a switch. This Les Paul Custom has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
