{"product_id":"1987-epiphone-casino-electric-guitar-violin-sunburst-pre-elitist-w-case-japan-terada","title":"1987 Epiphone Casino Electric Guitar Violin Sunburst Pre-Elitist w\/ Case, Japan Terada","description":"Up for sale, a 1987 Epiphone Casino in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original brown Lifton-style Epiphone-branded hardshell case. Produced in Japan at the Terada factory and featuring a dark Violin Sunburst finish, this is an uncommon and early Epiphone reissue which preceded the modern \"Elitist\" line. Acoustically, the fully hollow all-maple body has a smooth, bright tone which works well with the original pair of P-90 pickups. These pickups are wound to vintage spec with plenty of midrange bark, and a glassy, percussive quality. Whether you want articulate cleans or thick overdrive, these pickups can produce either with ease and with a refinement far beyond most other modern Casino reissues. The guitar is featherweight at only 6lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike's Guitar Bar and dialed in for optimal action and intonation with 11-49 strings.The maple neck has a slender C profile carve with just enough roundness in the shoulders and a hair more depth as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .755\" deep at the 1st fret and .830\" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard is a dark and tight-grained cut featuring pearl trapezoid inlay and original medium jumbo frets which have their full factory height, showing moderate wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3, extending more faintly until fret 5. The guitar plays cleanly in every register with a straight neck and ideally adjusted truss rod. The original hand-carved bone nut measures 1 9\/16\" in width, and the headstock retains the original Kluson-style nickel tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should.The electronics are untouched, with nickel pickup covers on the P-90s and gold reflector cap knobs on the Volume and Tone controls (two original knobs, and two well-matched modern replacements). The nickel ABR-1 bridge has the correct \"Made in Japan\" text on the underside, and the orange oval label visible through the F hole has the correct five digit serial for Terada factory production (7 for year, 5 for the Casino model, and three digits for the production number). There is uniform surface patina on the pickup covers, bridge, and trapeze tailpiece. The Violin Sunburst is a rare variant and one of the darker, richer bursts we’ve seen from the Terada factory. The finish is extremely clean, with just a few faint finish scratches and very minor marks on the body as a whole, and the gloss on the neck profile is equally clean.The original brown Lifton-style hardshell case with gold Epiphone silkscreen on the exterior is included. The case has a gold plush interior, original latches, and stock handle.","brand":"Epiphone","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":42083989487872,"sku":"75272","price":2199.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_93faee6d-dacd-44e1-987d-342e04cd258e.jpg?v=1751533459","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/1987-epiphone-casino-electric-guitar-violin-sunburst-pre-elitist-w-case-japan-terada","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
