Up for sale, 1985 Greco Mint Collection model EGC68-500 in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and manual. Crafted at the venerable Fujigen factory, this “lawsuit era” Mint Collection Greco is a clear response to the ‘68 Les Paul Custom. While it’s worth noting that no legal action was taken against Greco specifically for these guitars, Gibson would go on to commission the same factory to produce their Japan-exclusive "Orville" line of instruments.

Tonewoods include a mahogany body with a carved maple top and a one-piece mahogany neck capped with a bound rosewood fretboard. This guitar has a long neck tenon and midrange-forward, resonant acoustic character. The Fujigen-made "Screamin" PAF-style humbuckers are detailed and rich, with plenty of definition and power from the bridge pickup and more warmth and fullness in the neck position. This Greco weighs 9lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Ebony finish is framed by multi-ply binding, and the top and peghead face both exhibit cloudiness in the clear coat (not an uncommon occurrence for guitars that spend significant amounts of time in Japan’s humid climate). Further cosmetic wear includes buckle rash on the bass side of the back, a small chip on the perimeter at the bass-side lower bout, and a handful of minor dings on the body as a whole, largely relegated to the back and perimeter. Wear on the neck profile is similar, with some shallow marks worn smooth through play.

The original hardshell case is included, along with the manual.
