Up for sale, a 1983 PGM Moon J-J175 EMG in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag and warranty card. A rare boutique Japanese Jazz-style bass crafted by PGM under the Moon brand, this instrument boasts a number of premium features including a pair of EMG J Set pickups, a heavy duty brass bridge, long-stem clover button tuners, and a gloss Pearl White finish with matching headstock.
Tonewoods include an ash body, maple neck, and slab ebony fingerboard, and at 11lbs 12oz, this J-J175 EMG dishes out tons of natural sustain and punch. EMG’s J Set pickup design has a very low ratio of resistance to inductance, which increases the low end response, while the radiused ceramic bar magnet ensures a tight midrange with dynamic high end response. The tone is well-balanced across all notes and strings, with classic Jazz Bass burp and grind; sweeping harmonic overtones; and quiet operation. This Moon J-J175 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
