Made in Japan, the RS1000 was a quality model with a short production run only lasting from 1983-1984, before transitioning to the RS1300 model. The RS1000 features a carved birdseye maple top framed by ambered multi-ply binding on a basswood body, bolted to a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and pearloid dot position markers. Components include a pair of original and reputable Ibanez Super 58 humbucking pickups, a Hard Rocker Pro single locking tremolo bridge, Sure Grip II control knobs and Smooth Tuner II tuning machines. Plugged in, the PAF-style Super 58 pickups produce an open and articulate sound that provides rich clean tones and engages well with gain for thick overdriven textures. Weighing 7lbs 13oz, this RS1000 has been professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, spot-on intonation, and fast action.The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with full-feeling shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820” deep at the 1st fret and .910” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard sports dot inlay and the original slender fretwire. The frets are in great shape, showing only faint wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3, and virtually no wear further up the fingerboard. The scale length is 25 1\/2“, and the nut measures 42mm (1.650“) in width. On the headstock, the original set of gold Ibanez Smooth Tuner IIs are present. The tuners hold their pitch well, and live up to their name with a smooth and reliable response.The simple electronics work as they should, with Master Volume and Tone knobs and a three-way selector switch governing the stock pair of Ibanez Super 58 humbuckers. Hardware includes the Hard Rocker Pro tremolo tailpiece (arm not included) which has bright gold plating, with gracing aging of the gold on the pickup covers and tuners. Plastics include the original switch tip and gasket, along with the pair of Sure Grip II knobs which retain their rubber surrounds. The vibrant Cherry Sunburst gloss finish highlights the light birdseye maple figuring which extends across the top, and cosmetic wear is limited to two large finish chips on the treble-side lower bout body edge, with only some additional light finish scratches and minor marks on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth ambered gloss as well with a couple minor marks that aren't distracting to the palm while fretting.A vintage Japanese faux leather form-fit gigbag is included.","brand":"Ibanez","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":42368645660928,"sku":"E832959","price":1199.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0550\/4437\/4714\/products\/medium_f26a829b-c2fd-4325-bfc4-ba832c9cee03.jpg?v=1751496510","url":"https:\/\/mmguitarbar.com\/products\/1983-ibanez-roadstar-ii-series-rs1000-cherry-sunburst-w-super-58-pickups-japan","provider":"Mike \u0026 Mike's Guitar Bar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
