Up for sale, a 1983 Fender Telecaster Custom ‘62 vintage reissue model TL62B-70 in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. An extremely early example of Fender Japan's Telecaster Custom (which wouldn't make its catalog debut until 1984), this Tele hails from the second quarter of '83, barely a year after Fender Japan began production at the Fujigen factory.

The pair of TL-Vintage single coil pickups offer a range of traditional Tele tonalities, distinct and vital at each position on the three-way pickup selector switch. The bridge has great midrange detail and twang, while toggling towards the neck yields a broad, smooth sound with a woody chop. This Telecaster Custom weighs 7lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The three-tone Sunburst gloss finish is particularly rich, with a wide black band on the outside of the burst, framed by cream binding. There is a finish chip on the bass-side edge of the neck heel, with light buckle rash central to the back and a number of minor dings and finish scratches on the body as a whole, largely along the lower bout and body perimeter. The neck profile retains its smooth ambered gloss, with some shallow nicks along the profile length that have no impact on playability, worn smooth from further contact with the palm.

A modern Fender padded gigbag is included.
