Up for sale, a 1981 Ibanez Roadster Bass RS924 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Only produced for a few short years, this early Ibanez Roadster (predating the better-known “Roadstar” series) bass was crafted at the Fujigen factory in Japan, boasting versatile features including a PJ pickup complement and an active two-band EQ (EQ-B2 harness).

Tonewoods include an ash body, maple neck, and maple fingerboard, and this RS924 weighs 10lbs 6oz, dishing out plenty of natural sustain and midrange heft. There are a wide array of sounds on tap via the Super J-4 and Super P-4 pickups, both of which feature ceramic magnets: the Super J-4 single coil yields burp and aggressive grind, while the Super P-4 is broad and smooth with lots of thump on tap. Additionally the active two-band EQ enables a huge amount of tonal sculpting precision, offering everything from cavernous thunder to focused, treble-centric punch. This Roadster Bass RS924 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Brown Sunburst finish highlights the notable tight grain in the ash body, and cosmetic wear is limited to buckle rash central to the back, one finish chip adjacent to the output jack, and just a few small dings on the body as a whole. The satin finish on the neck profile is smooth and clean save for a couple shallow nicks.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included.
